On Sunday, February 6, at 12 noon, St. Paul's Church, Christian Street will be celebrating the External Solemnity of the Purification of the B.V.M., according to the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite.The External Solemnity belongs to this Feast of the Purification by right, according to the 1960 Code of Rubrics, and may be celebrated on Sunday, provided that permission is received from the Holy See to transfer the ceremonies also. St. Paul’s Church received permission from the Pontifical Commission Ecclesia Dei two weeks ago allowing the parish to celebrate the ceremonies and External Solemnity on either the Sunday preceding or following, in perpetuity, provided that the Sunday is not a Sunday of the First Class e.g., Septuagesima.
St. Paul's Church is located in South Philadelphia and is easily accessible to those in Philadelphia, Camden, Delaware, & Montgomery counties. Parking is available in the lot across the street from the church.
